Officials from Galmudug joined counterparts from Jubbaland, South West and Hirshabelle in a three-day engagement focused on strengthening financial oversight and improving follow-up on audit recommendations.
The workshop brought together representatives from Ministries of Finance, Offices of the Auditor General and Parliamentary Budget and Finance Committees. For many participants, it was the first structured engagement bringing all three oversight actors together to examine their respective roles across the audit and accountability cycle.
Sessions examined recurring audit findings, institutional responsibilities, international lessons and practical measures for turning audit recommendations into corrective action. State teams developed action-oriented approaches intended to strengthen coordination and follow-up.
The engagement was jointly delivered through the PREMIS 2 programme and the European Union-supported technical assistance for financial accountability, reinforcing the importance of coordinated oversight in sound public financial management.
