Auditor General Hashi Osman Mohamed represented Galmudug State at a high-level technical meeting convened by the Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Mogadishu from 2nd to 4th June 2024.
The meeting brought together the Federal Office and the Offices of the Auditors General of Hirshabelle, Galmudug, Jubbaland and South West State, together with European Union representatives. Participants exchanged experience on audit practice, institutional challenges and opportunities for stronger cooperation across Somalia’s public-audit system.
The discussions resulted in commitments to regular high-level engagement, annual seminars, stronger technical cooperation and development of a formal collaborative framework between the federal and state audit offices.
For Galmudug, sustained professional cooperation supports stronger audit methodology, shared learning and more consistent approaches to safeguarding public resources while respecting the independent mandate of each audit institution.
